Networks & Telecommunications

Network and telecommunications engineering at the highest level of the discipline — from backbone routing to microsegmentation — with security treated as a property of the architecture, not an afterthought.

The problem

Real corporate networks rarely look like the ideal diagram: routing protocols configured by trial and error, redundancy that was never tested, segmentation that grew without a plan, firewall rules no one understands anymore, and remote sites hanging on improvised solutions. The result is a network that works — until the day a failure, a change, or an attack reveals that no one knows exactly how it behaves.

How we work

Corporate architecture and routing

Design, review, and optimization of campus, data center, and backbone networks: internal and external dynamic routing protocols, traffic engineering, quality of service, multicast, and real high availability — with predictable behavior under failure, validated by testing.

WAN, interconnection, and remote sites

Traditional and software-defined WAN architectures, interconnection of branches, industrial plants, and remote units — including sites with restricted connectivity, satellite links, and no public addressing — with transport encryption and resilient routing.

Network security and segmentation

Next-generation perimeter, intrusion prevention, secure remote access, risk-driven segmentation and microsegmentation, network admission control with device and user authentication, and zone design aligned with zero-trust principles.

Operations, visibility, and expert troubleshooting

Diagnosis of high-complexity problems — intermittent instabilities, routing asymmetries, performance degradation —, centralized telemetry and monitoring, and remediation of legacy equipment that cannot be taken out of operation, with attack surface reduction executed live.

Applied experience

Technical depth equivalent to the industry's highest levels of specialization in routing, switching, and network security, applied to distributed offshore oil and gas operations, industrial environments, and multi-site corporate networks — including mission-critical satellite connectivity scenarios.

Frequently asked questions

Which network vendor do you work with?

All the relevant ones — and deliberately without preference. The consulting is vendor-agnostic: the principles of routing, switching, segmentation, and security are the same; only the syntax changes. When a platform recommendation is needed, it comes from your context and budget, not from a commercial partnership.

Can end-of-life network equipment be secured without replacing it?

Replacement is always the long-term recommendation, and the report says so clearly. While the swap doesn't happen, the attack surface can be drastically reduced: disabling exposed services, restricting management sources, validating which vulnerabilities actually apply to the version in use, and isolating the device in the topology.

Do you serve offshore, industrial, and connectivity-restricted environments?

Yes. A relevant part of ITool's experience comes from distributed operations with satellite links, maintenance windows counted in hours, and sites without public addressing — scenarios where improvisation is expensive and the architecture has to work on its own.
